Job DescriptionThis Internal Auditor will be responsible for performing risk assessments to prioritize audit work and develop custom, risk-based audit plans based on industry standards and County operations and controls.
Additionally, this position will be responsible for developing and executing test plans to evaluate the design and effectiveness of IT control activities and preparing formal audit reports, and participating in a quality assurance process.
Essential DutiesPlanning and conducting IT-related audits, reviews, and special projectsConducting research, interviews, observations, complex data collection, and analysis to successfully execute projectsDeveloping and executing test plans to evaluate the design and effectiveness of IT control activitiesWorking with management to confirm findings and gather management responsesPreparing formal audit reports and participating in a quality assurance processFollowing up on findings to validate remediationWorking collaboratively in-person with team members and auditees in all phases Public Speaking DutiesConducting meetings with various participants internal to the CountyPresenting findings to multiple levels of management and taking questionsContributing to preparation for public Audit Committee meetings and attending as neededGradeThe grade for this position is 106.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree with a major or concentration in accounting, business administration, public administration, public policy analysis, internal auditing or finance; ANDThree years of internal and/or external audit experience, including experience writing audit reports and communicating results to all levels of management An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
